Dr Maretha Prinsloo
Maretha is a registered psychologist who has worked
extensively in the fields of:
Psychotherapy & Coaching
Psychological Research
Psychometric test development
People assessment and development
Project management
Organisational Transformation
Community Development
She registered as a Psychologist in 1984, and worked
in the field of psychotherapy for four years after which she turned
her attention to Research. She completed her doctorate in Cognitive
Psychology in 1992, and started Magellan Consulting (pty) Ltd. This
business is currently serving approximately 100 corporate clients and
supports 40 independent consultants in South Africa in the fields of
people assessment and development. Magellan has expanded to the UK where
it is registered as Cognadev Ltd and where it operates in association
with a number of consulting groups. Cognadev also provides training,
support as well as assessment and development products to a number of
Australian and Canadian Consultants.
Projects that Magellan is currently involved with include:
Organisational Transformation, identification of bursary candidates,
succession planning, selection and placement, executive coaching, compiling
strategic teams, career guidance, development of strategic thinking,
development of analytical skills, competency assessment, cross-cultural
research, development of assessment products.
Clients include Corporates representing most Industries,
as well as independent Consultants.
Daily activities for Maretha involve executive coaching,
project management of assessment and development initiatives at corporate
clients as well as programming projects, marketing, management of the
business, cognitive skills training, assistance to Masters and Doctoral
students, and research and development. Maretha is however, particularly
interested in Research and Development and has developed the Cognitive
Process Profile (CPP), the Cognitive Task Assessor (CTA), the Value
Orientations, the Motivational Profile (MP) and has co-authored a range
of cognitive and psychological training programmes. She is also in the
process of finalizing unique assessment products for the measurement
and development of leadership - in the postmodern business environment.
